I'm currently in the process of transferring my site from Hostgator to AWS, and am aiming for zero downtime. He's what I've got so far, please correct me if I am wrong in the process.
AWS Route 53
-Create Hosted Zone with mydomain.com
-Create Record Set with Name: mydomain.com | Type: A - 1Pv4 Address | Alias: Yes, target my Elastic Beanstalk Load Balancer | Routing Policy: Simple
NameCheap
-Copy nameservers from Route 53 into the Manage Domains section and save.
Hosting
-Keep both hosts running for a few more days until propagated, then cancel the old host.
Is there anything I missed? Do I have to do anything with an Elastic IP(which I have for my EC2 Instance), or DNS Zone File (of which I have been recommended to transfer yet have not touched on my old host)?
Thanks for the help!
