aws storage gateway disaster recovery

Im in a pickle here. In-case our AWS gateway was lost,I will recover my snapshots through ec2. Now is it possible to access that gateway from an other system. And will i be able to modify data in snapshot in ec2 and then update it back to the storage gateway? Also the documentation it was mentioned that the s3 is backed up automatiaclly at locations all over the world. How do I see that. Thanks in advance
