should i use elastic search as primary data store? how will you compare elastic search with mongoDB

We want to deploy this on AWS and Amazon has came up with new elastic search service. I am curious how it will perform in comparison with mongoDB 3.0. I read in few blogs that elastic search can loose writes, but elastic search was new at that point of time.
