Amazon Javascript SDK - SimpleDB

I am thinking of using the AWSJavaScriptSDK to interact with a SimpleDB domain.

Why does the documentation suggest using api version 2009-04-15?

Should I be concerned about using this SDK if its from 2009? Can I load this SDK in the browser from hosted link somewhere like can be done below for the current version?
