I'm trying to install a Puppet 3 master on Amazon Linux 2015.03.
The puppet3-master package installs fine, but I need puppetdb, which is not available as an RPM from the AWS repos. Also, I need passenger for the Apache webserver, but this package is not available either. There are packages available from puppetlabs, but these are incompatible with the ruby version on Amazon Linux.
I have also thought about using the JRuby version, puppet-server, but this is not available as a package either. Again, there is a puppetlabs package, but there are ruby version incompatibilities.
Does anyone have any tips for getting a production level puppet3 master running on Amazon Linux? As it currently stands, the Amazon Linux puppet 3 support only works for development servers (WEBrick), and with no stored config (PuppetDB).
