How to get the list of folders under a URL using AWS rest API's?

We have an archive stored in Amazon s3. For one of our application I need to get the list of folders under a given URL. Instead of parsing the output from the web query to the URL, Is there a way to get the list of folder names in JSON or XML format using AWS REST APi's ?

If its not possible with REST API's is there is any alternative better thano parsing the web request return ?
