How to start working as a professional with nodejs?

I want to start developing projects with node js.You can help me answer some of the questions?

Is it right to use the Chat section node js? I'm using PHP and MySQL in the project.

My project folder architecture:

--- / frameworks

I wrote the above nodejs folder based architecture must be created here, too. Or just create a separate server through server code is correct nodejs been put there?

I use CentOS as a server on the Amazon AWS. I keep users logged on Amazon AWS service in REDIS database of Elastix. Discussions section that will allow messaging between users.
