Unable to access 'aws-sdk' gem from application added as extension in rails

I am using spree to build an e-commerce application.To my application several extensions of spree are added.Now I am unable to access any gem from controllers from the spree extensions.In this particular case, I am trying to access 'aws-sdk' gem. I have added it to gemfile,but not able to use it in the controller.
