how to setup realtime geolocation tracking in nodejs and android

Hi I want to setup nodejs server on AWS that can read geolocation from Android app running in foreground and store that in db or send it to another device. This will be similar to what Uber does for tracking device. I think it can be implemented using SocketIO (nodejs and Android SDK) but I couldn't find any good reference for it. Any pointers?
