I can connect to my 2012 Windows Server instance with a mssql 2014 Standard database through Remote Desktop. My problem is I can't connect to the database through any other remote product which is essential. The connection works from my 2008 sql instance but I didn't have a choice about the version of backup I could receive.
So far: I have restored the database into sql '14 and can fully access the data. I have enabled logging in through windows or sql authentication. Added login and password to a user and can connect thru sql authentication
Any assistance or a link to a guide would be greatly appreciated.
