Moving files from live server to bitbucket to live server using source tree

We are moving all our sites from azure to aws. We have been using svn to handle all the version control and was thinking of also migrating to bitbucket.

Is there any downside to just pushing & committing from the live azure server to bitbucket then do a pull in the aws server all using the sourcetree app?

We will get rid of the source tree app once everything is migrated to the new server.
