Running java .jar saved on amazon ec2 from java website

I am having trouble figuring out how to run a .jar saved on ec2 from web site. The .jar file is running correctly from cmd line using ssh command. But how to run it from java program. What steps i will need .ie connecting to instance and running .jar from program.(Do i need to provide user id and password).
