Add Instance Store to OpenSUSE instance on AWS

I am trying to attach an instance store to my running instance on AWS.

I am new to openSUSE. On Fedora I would have formatted the disk using

mkfs.ext4 /dev/xvdb

then would have created a mount point and fstab entry. Finally, I'd mount.

I am unable to do this on openSUSE. For starters I can't figure out how to format the disk as an ext4 partition. I know the os understands ext4 since the root partition's entry in fstab is

/dev/hda1 / ext4 defaults 1 1
